Despite its size, it is home to over 400 miles of coastline. One popular spot is the Mohegan Bluffs on Block Island, known for its dramatic cliffs and panoramic ocean views. In fact, Block Island is often ranked among the top coastal destinations for photography in the U.S. due to its natural beauty and unspoiled landscapes.
In addition to its coastal beauty, Rhode Island’s urban areas provide opportunities for architectural and street photography. Providence, the state capital, is known for its vibrant arts scene, with the WaterFire installation being a key subject. Held seasonally, this unique event features over 80 bonfires along the Woonasquatucket River, creating a dramatic setting for nighttime photography.
